Really likes a bath

This was tough photo to crop because Monica had crawled into the bath with Cece while wearing her clothes. I had to crop Cece out.

The kids decided to sell cookies instead of a lemonade stand. They made $2 and were very proud.

O'Claire popcorn

We made popcorn tonight for dessert.
Daddy embellished it with
chocolate and peanut butter.
As you can see (and HEAR)
it is a success.

a day at the pool

Today I took three kids to the pool.
Half way through, I had to put
a life jacket on Monica.
Then I was able to keep up with them all.

Father's Day Car Wash

This was an ideal activity for Dave on Father's Day.  He got the tires on the corvette, rolled it out and washed it.

Graduation Necklace

At Cece's school, her class made candy necklaces for the graduating 8th graders.  Through a series of mishaps, Cece didn't get to make one for her 8th grade buddy.  So we made one for Aunt Judy as she graduated from PCC last night.

So you get 10-12 pieces of wrapped candy (like jolly ranchers or lindor truffles).  Spread out a long piece of plastic (about 4-5 feet).  Fold over candy in middle and tie ribbon around each piece.  Tie the whole thing with ribbon...

Here is Judy with her new necklace!

First Day of Summer Vacation

On our first day of Summer vacation, we went to the library to stock up on books, dropped off baby stuff at a friends house, played at the mall playground (pictured here), had lunch, got a father's day present, bought things for a graduation present, had friends over for a playdate, went to Cece's violin lesson, got a few groceries, then to a VBS meeting.  It was a full day for us!

Goop

Sometimes our kids ready like "science experiments".  Cece wanted to see what would happen if you mixed flour, water and food coloring together.  The answer is it is fun to play with.  Monica and Jack got into the action.

Cece and Jack toasted the last day of school with KOOL-AID.  A treat from Cece's teacher.  Here they are just before we put away the uniform and lunchboxes until fall.

Red Velvet Brownies

This is a funny story.  This week I need to make 4 batches of brownies.  My first batch was yesterday.  I made red velvet brownies out of the last box of red velvet mix.   As the brownies were finishing, I needed to leave to pick up Jack and Cecilia at school.  Brownies weren't quite done so I turned the oven off and cracked the door.  I then loaded up Monica, Samantha and Jonathan for the school pickup.  After loading kids at school, had to listen to Cecilia tell her story of woe that she didn't get an extra piece of candy from the teacher after she had lost one of pieces left over from a craft project.  As we are going home, I tell Cecilia she can have a brownie when we get home.  As I am starting to unload babies from car, Cece asks if she can have a brownie.  "Yes", I say "you just have to wait, they are in the oven."
"Mom, I can get them!" says Cece as she runs into the house.
This is when I think, brownies are cooled off enough for her to get them so I don't stop her.

Cue to me holding one baby and Cece bringing brownies out to the garage to show me she got the brownes (with hotpads) out all by herself.

"Mom, I did it!"

SMACK!

Brownies flip over onto the garage floor.

Oh, the tragic look on her face!  The tears!  The cries of "I'm so embarrassed".

"Mom, why aren't you yelling at me?"

"Well, honey, it is one of those moments where I think you are going to punish yourself more than I ever would."  and in my head thinking, "This is kinda funny, can't wait to put it in the blog..."

Back to making brownies...
