A good day for Jack

This is a picture that Jack did all by himself.  He drew WALL*E and EVA from the Pixar movie.  Then he spelled "Walle" at the top! 

This is a funny story.  Jack got this in his backpack yesterday.  So we decided to play a joke on Daddy.  When Dave came home, Jack said: "Bad news Dad, I got in trouble at school."

Then he produced this note for Dave...a good laugh!

Jack got out the Blokus game and played for the longest time.  He really liked seeing all the pictures and shapes he could make with the blocks.

Cece's bread and shrimp salsa

Cece was started experimenting in the kitchen
last week.  She was mixing flour and water.  It
was kind of a mess, so I added yeast and salt
and we let the dough rise over night.  It was the
result, not bad for a first attempt at bread without
a recipe and good with salted butter.

At the cultural heritage fair, this was so good
I had to make it for ourselves.  It is Mexican
shrimp cocktail, or as we are calling it, shrimp
salsa.  So delicious!

While talking with some foodie friends we got on to beer can chicken.  I was inspired to make it again last night.  This is funny because I used an 8 oz can of beer (instead of 12).  It makes the chicken sit flush with the counter. 

It was done with lemon pepper.

It is good our back yard is secluded as our children have a clothing optional/ swimsuit party every time the heat goes over 70F. 


And they get so dirty and tired!

Cecilia has a kid's cooking book that she likes to try out.  Last night was English Muffin Pizza, we cooked it on the grill outside.  These were very tasting, easy to make and easy to clean up.

Cecilia is trying out the violin.  Yesterday was her first lesson.  This morning she was so eager to practice, she got ready for school in record time.   Monica and Jack are very curious about it!
